Excerpts from the book "When God Writes Your Love Story"

As I was looking for a status to post on my Facebook wall, I came across my old black notebook. This notebook contains very nice and meaningful lines from the movies I watch, the books I read and sometimes even from the people that I listen to.

Right now, let me write some of the wisdom-filled excerpts from the book "When God Writes Your Love Story" by Eric and Leslie Ludy that somehow shape my perception about my own love story in the future--in God's time. I actually haven't finished reading the book yet. I even forgot where I kept it :|

"If you really desire to one day discover the beautiful side of love, you have to first walk through the painful side."

"If God is going to write your love story, He is going to first need your pen. If God is going to lead your love boat to the harbor of romance beyond the fairy tales, He needs the helm."

"If ever you are going to hear the sweeter song that God created you to hear, then you are going to have to first open the door to Jesus and let Him have His way. And you are going to have to trust that He, as the Inventor of romance, knows how to write a beautiful tale."

"Sometimes in a relationship, we can be so caught up in our feelings for the other person that we squeeze God into the background. It becomes a confusing, emotional mess and we wonder why God isn't giving us more direction, when all the while He is there waiting to be allowed back into first place in our hearts. Only when He is truly in first place are we ready for a God-written love story."

"Inviting God to write the chapters of our love story involves work on our part--not just a scattered prayer here and there, not merely a feeble attempt to find some insight by flopping open the Bible every now and then. It's seeking Him on a daily basis, putting Him in first place at all times, discovering His heart."

"When obeying God is a chore that we are forced to do, it becomes a lifeless act of drudgery and we complain the whole way through...But when we learn who God really is and we make our decisions out of a passionate love for Him , we find joy and delight in obedience."
